Welcome

By now you are probably fed up with how many numerous and petty changes I have made to the site, that you probably visit Grind to Death in the interest of seeing how much I have changed it since your last visit, rather than reading any of the incomprehensible bable we churn out. Well in any case, after deciding that blogger although highly recommended and a fantastic platform, had a great number of limitations that would hinder my overactive ambitions regarding the site, and despite my prior addamance of a no cost blog, and being loyal to the blogger platform, I double crossed myself and decided it was time to set up shop elsewhere. So after playing a round with a number of alternate blogging platforms, I have settled down on this one, and although nearly twice the price of Wordpress (idiot boy!) after weighing up one and all, I thought it justifiable to go on this platform, in the interest of both authors and readers alike.
So here is a non-exhaustive list of some of the new features that are or will be shortly present.
- A contact form, which will serve as a general way of communicating with myself, be it for review purposes, business or just general contact.
- My Favourite Feature by far, is that we are going to offer artists the option to upload their material all in site for us to review (Hover over Music and select Drop) limited to 20mb per file, but you can upload in multiple rars/zips or individual files.
- If an artists wants to share their music with the world, we can host it here on Grind to Death, you can drop it off in the drop off box, send as an email via the contact form to inform us you want our audiences to be able to download it, and we will make it a public release. No more perishing mediafire/rapidshare links! Hoorah! That also means more mixtapes!
- We have an in house forum, so the Grind to Death Community can feel free to slag off anything off as you please, with no need for registration, just an email address.
- An easy to view complete access to the complete Grind to Death Archives (refrain from looking at my earlier posts, they are nail bittingly bad!)
- A clutter free reading environment, that looks proffessional sort of (my attempt at looking pro in any case)
- An outstanding search tool, really amazing.
- Even though powered by the same tool, the translation options will be far more powerful and accurate, aiming to translate entire phrases in a go, rather than word for word which lead to numerous inconsistencies.
- SEO optimisation, expect to see our site on google, yahoo etc!
- Much faster loading times, current testing shows loading times of 7 times quicker, as a result of better hosting and zero lines of redundant or poorly scripted code.
- A commenting system identical to invisible oranges (not stolen though)
- We now have a creative commons licence, so feel free to reproduce any of our work, providing of course you do credit us if it is entirely plagarised,
- We can localise and globalise scripts as we choose (for the more techy of you)
- We can reference previous posts, or other blogs posts, so that people are more aware of it all rather than just hyperlinking to the original.
- Option for categories and tags.
- Options for multiple blogs with seperate rss feeds, only come here to read the reviews not to download the free releases we will be distributing thats fine, only subscribe to the relevant rss feed.
- Different Views for different platforms, be it on an Android Phone, Ipad, Iphone the site will be optimised for the consideration of the reader.
- All scripts hosted on site! Basically faster and more efficient use and browsing of the site.
So that pretty much is a list of the main benefits for you as the readers, with a list about twice as long for us authors, and not to mention I am still discovering cool things all the time about this platform, which I must say I do highly recommend.
I did consider asking for donations to fund this all, however after due consideration I thought it unfair to ask my readers for this, especially since there are many more bloggers in our business more deserving of a professional site and platform. So I have decided to self fund this endevaour, although not entirely in true DIY Punk fashion, where what currently is the In Disgust album art, I am looking to sell as advertisment space to help alleviate some of the financial burden of this all. Rest assured I have no intention of profit for this site, only offering the best for my readers!
Addittionally since we have had an exodus of authors I am looking to recruit new authors for Grind to Death, preferably those who are more dedicated and with a good writing skills. So if you are interested in doing so, contact me via the contact form!

the new digs look nice.
Cheers man! Now we got the aesthetics down, I hope we can get the good narrative down!
