69 Tracks from 69 bands, now that's what I call a compilation! We have blended a nice mix of known and established grind bands with a vast selection of those in the underground in the hope to shed some light on the greatly neglected underground. Kudos to Ross of American Aftermath for inviting me onboard to this ambitious grind project, and I hope you listeners enjoy it and as a result check out many of the untapped grind talent looming about on this comp.
I shall devote myself to the grind.

Very nice see brazilian bands representing the south american extreme music together with these other bands around the world...
BODHUM - Ódio is great !!!!
DEUSCASTIGA - Fortune.Cook.Jedi Hell yeah !!!!
Congratulations!!!! I already downloaded my copy
Brazil and South East Asia are both gold mines of grind at the moment, would be a crime not include them on this compilation!
Deus Castiga is fucking good, brazilian grindcore rules!
@Victor M.
I second both motions!
Have you heard Brazilian Grind Legends Expurgo? Their 2010 release is one of the best releases I have ever come across.
Alex - amazing comp! Have skim listened to quite a few tracks and Ferrero Rocher springs to mind...
"With this comp you are really spoiling us..."
:-)
@Paul
Haha cheers, and damn I love Ferroro Rochers!
Thanks for the compilation, guys. One small complaint; maybe next time try to streamline the codec/quality? You've got mostly MP3s with a couple of WAV files, all at differing bit rates. Kind of messy, especially since you went through the effort of making neat album artwork and everything.
Again, much appreciated, I don't mean to sound like I'm just here to bitch.
@MSv81
All the files should have converted to mp3, which ones are WAV files? Sorry I was certain all the files were mp3, As for the varying bit rates different bands sent us different rates, and didn't want to compromise on the integrity of any so just kept it as sent it. If we going all out pro on the compilation then I would definatley keep more professional standards, but I don't really know how to do such things and was not sure on what the reception was going to be like.
No problem positive criticism is what allows us to strive to be better!
Cuuuuupcaaaaake!
Nohari's Vocalist/drumemr here. Thanks for this awesome release. You guys and Ross' blog have been awesome for newcomers like us. Means a lot.
We live to serve the grind, be it big or be it small!
you should have links for all these bands
I'm looking a bunch of this up right now it's so good
@KMCFM
All links to the bands are in the readme file.
Hey Alex, I noticed that the Cupcake link was missing though. Or maybe I forgot to give you one...I can't remember. Our old myspace was www.myspace.com/cupcakegrind and our other vocalist uploaded some live videos to his youtube account at www.youtube.com/user/lordofallfire
Wicked man HxT turns out I have a number of omissions that I need to rectify, will get on it, and reissue the comp with no mistakes! (hopefully)
Ever think of throwing this thing up on bandcamp?
It's incredible for Rectal Dystrophy to be apart of such a fantastic line up of bands. Atomck, Wadge, Rotten Sound, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Brutal Truth for fuck sakes. Purely amazing.
brilliant! nice one for sorting this out alex! reckon you could get tother bands to post up links to there pages?
cheers!!

@Horsebastard
I have contacted every artist involved bar one (about to contact now) we are getting masses of downloads I assume, It doesnt tell me how many but my site traffic jumped about 1,000% on the day of release, which would mean that at least nearly a thousand people who have downloaded the comp have come back to the site to read it or check out GTD, therefore I assume a few thousands have downloaded.
If you like any of the bands check out the readme, got all the links to all the bands FB/myspaces and the like.
Reupped all as MP3'S 320, and with two new bands and minus one band who opted against being in it.
Thank you for adding us to this! It's surreal seeing our name up there with so many awesome bands. Keep up the amazing work.
I'm sorry but I'm a bit disappointed with this compilation. I mean it's great and appreciated that you provide free material, but there are active and retired grind combos that are heavier than the featured artists. There are a few exceptions like Sakatat. Nevertheless I miss acts who in my opinion really push or have pushed the boundaries of grindcore like The Kill, White Eyes, Koreisch, Hinckley, Rise Above, Agents of Abhorrence, Cellgraft, Warsore, In Disgust and others.
@Lewis
Sorry you feel such a way, however the purpose of this comp was less aimed at those who have pushed boundaries and more aimed at making fans look for new grind bands, rather than rehashing known but good grind bands, such as many of those you have listed. For my part of the comp, I included only bands who I knew personally and had some sort of interaction with (Sakatat inclusive). We don't assemble compilations to make the compilation look good line up wise, we have the motive of forcing the listeners to delve beyond their comfort zone in grind, and explore new styles of grind, new bands, bands from countries you didnt even think grind existed. It doesnt matter if you hate all the bands on the comp bar one, as long as you have discovered one new grind band you like, I will consider the compilations objective complete.
The next volume should be entitled "Lewis' Summer Jams 2011" and you can include only bands that Lewis name-drops. It would probably be super heavy and cutting-edge, cause compiling inactive and established grind bands that Lewis loves is really pushing "the boundaries of grindcore". What a huge, huge tool.
